Frequently Asked Questions

How much should a complete beginner practice?

Start with 20–30 minutes per session, 3–5 days per week. Consistency beats length. Our practice estimator on the Home page helps tailor a routine that fits your week.

Do I need to read music to begin?

No. We introduce reading gradually while you learn posture, bow hold, and ear training. Many students start with open strings and simple melodies before reading notes.

What violin size should I choose?

Adults typically use a 4/4 (full-size) violin. Younger learners may need smaller sizes (1/16 to 3/4). A local shop can measure arm length for accurate sizing.

How do I tune safely as a beginner?

Use a chromatic tuner and make small adjustments with fine tuners first. Our “Violin Setup & Tuning Essentials” course provides step-by-step guidance and reference tones.

What equipment do I need?

A properly sized violin with bow, rosin, a shoulder rest, a music stand, and a tuner app or clip-on tuner. Optional: a mirror to check posture and bow path.

Is live feedback available?

Yes. Some courses include live cohort sessions or feedback slots. Check the “format” label in the catalog to see whether a course is Self-paced, Live cohort, or Hybrid.

Can I switch between light and dark theme?

Yes. Use the Theme button in the header. Your preference is saved in the browser so it stays consistent across visits.

How do Fallows (favorites) work?

Tap the heart in the catalog to save a course to Fallows. Visit the Fallows page to review or remove items. Favorites are stored locally in your browser.

Do you offer refunds?
